To Provide all students the principles and practice in nursing to support the attainment and maintenance of physical and mental health and prevention of illness throughout the lifecycle
To Educate each student in the basic concepts of the Nursing process;Anatomy, Physiology, Chemistry, Physics, and Microbiology; Communication, growth and development, Interpersonal relations, patient education and cultural diversity; Ethics, nursing history and trends, vocational and legal aspects of nursing, (including regulations and sections of the Code of Virginia related to nursing); Pharmacology, Nutrition and Diet Therapy.
To Prepare each student to safely administer basic nursing care under the supervision of a licensed professional.
To Assure each student is properly ready to successfully complete the NCLEX-PN exam and obtain licensure and employment as a Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
